Yeongdeok National Forest Management Office (Director Kim Ho-geun) will operate a landslide countermeasure situation room during the 2025 summer natural disaster countermeasure period (May 15 – October 15).

The landslide countermeasure situation room is systematically operated according to the comprehensive landslide prevention measures and performs functions for preventing and responding to landslide disasters.

In response to vulnerable conditions for landslide prevention due to recent abnormal weather, such as increased monsoon periods, the Yeongdeok National Forest Management Office plans to strengthen preemptive activities and blind spot inspections for landslide-prone areas and disaster-prone areas during the situation room’s operation period.

A member of the landslide response team stated, “Landslides cannot be blocked, but they can be avoided,” emphasizing the need for public interest and active cooperation and participation in safety prevention, such as national landslide safety guidelines.
