The Ministry of Environment (Minister Kim Seong-hwan) and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute will hold a ‘2025 Outstanding Environmental Industry Company Certificate Award Ceremony and Meeting’ on the afternoon of September 11 at the Courtyard Marriott Seoul Botanic Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
This year, a total of nine companies have been designated as outstanding environmental industries. The Outstanding Environmental Industry Designation System has been in place since 2012. It aims to discover promising environmental companies, promote their entry into overseas markets, and strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic environmental industry.
Designated companies are provided with support for global market expansion, including the operation of pavilions at overseas environmental expos, support for patent strategy projects (IP-R&D), production of multilingual brochures, and establishment of connections with overseas clients and purchasers to explore market entry.
Additionally, they receive various benefits such as support for environmental technology development projects and policy funds, occupancy in startup and venture green convergence industrial complexes (clusters), and extra points when applying for overseas expansion support projects.
After the award ceremony, a meeting will be held with representatives of the designated companies and officials from the Ministry of Environment to directly hear opinions from the field and discuss support measures.
Seo Young-tae, Director of Green Transition Policy at the Ministry of Environment, stated, “Outstanding environmental companies are key players leading the future of our country’s environmental industry. We will continuously expand support to enhance their decarbonization transition and global competitiveness.”
