From May 4 to June 22, Seoul City will host the ‘2025 Car-Free Jamsu Bridge Walk Festival’ every Sunday for a total of eight sessions. The festival will take place throughout Banpo Hangang Park and Jamsu Bridge.
This year, the theme is ‘Romantic Walks on Two Feet.’ During the event, Jamsu Bridge will be operated as a pedestrian-only space. The program range has been expanded from the existing southern section to the northern section, allowing activities across the full span.
On the opening day, May 4, a ‘Mask Parade’ commemorating Children’s Day will be held. Citizens can wear masks they crafted and march across the bridge with marching bands, world dance teams, clowns, and popular characters. The city plans to provide 1,000 experience masks to allow all visiting citizens to join the parade lineup.
On May 11, the ‘Hangang Zone-Out Contest’ will be held at 4 PM, followed by a 40-minute ‘Hangang Comma Meditation.’ This program is designed for mental relaxation.
On May 18, a traditional cultural event combining ‘Nak-hwa Play’ and ‘Jeongseon Arirang’ will be prepared. An evening raft performance will also take place.
On June 1, ‘Fencing on the Bridge’ will occur at Jamsu Bridge. The Seoul City fencing team will demonstrate, with citizen participation also available.
On June 8, a ‘Korean Music Meditation’ program will be held, combining Korean music performances and meditation in collaboration with the National Gugak Center. Additionally, a lecture concert with a psychology expert will offer a time of mental healing.
On June 15, ‘Jamsu Bridge Sunset Yoga’ will take place. This year, a ‘Doga (Dog Yoga)’ program, allowing participants to bring their pets, is included. The yoga session will proceed against the backdrop of the sunset.
The closing ceremony on June 22 is set to feature performances by the Navy Band and popular bands, under the slogan ‘HAPPYEND.’
Weekly permanent programs are also planned. There will be picnic zones, sunset zones, water light zones, and silent water-gazing zones. Thirty food trucks will operate, all using reusable dishes. A portion of the sales profits will be donated to UNICEF’s Korea Committee.
The noiseless DJ parties will be held five times in total. These will take place in front of the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, where participants can enjoy music through wireless headphones.
The bridge will also feature various content, including ‘Colorful Jamsu Bridge’ photo zones, air bounce, street performances, and flea markets featuring local farm products.
On the festival days, from 11 AM to 11 PM, vehicle traffic on Jamsu Bridge will be restricted. Seventy control personnel will be stationed at 14 intersections to ensure order and safety.
To mitigate congestion at Banpo Hangang Park parking lot, Seoul City recommends using public transportation.
Park Jin-young, Head of Seoul City’s Future Hangang Headquarters, stated, “We designed the festival so that citizens can enjoy culture and leisure together,” adding, “We hope everyone enjoys the late spring and early summer ambiance on Jamsu Bridge close to the Hangang water surface.”
