The Korea Communications Commission (led by Chairperson Lee Jin-suk) has announced the selection of 45 companies as the first group of beneficiaries for the “2025 Broadcasting Advertisement Production Support Project for Small Businesses and Small Business Owners,” which they are promoting in collaboration with the Korea Broadcasting Advertising Promotion Corporation (led by CEO Min Young-sam). Selected companies will receive support for broadcast advertisement production costs as well as professional marketing consulting.

This initiative aims to support the entry of small businesses and small business owners into the broadcast advertisement sector, facilitating market penetration and innovative growth, as well as expanding demand in the advertising market. The total support for this year comprises 50 small businesses and 193 small business owners, totaling 243 companies. For this first selection, 45 companies have been chosen out of a total of 118 applicants, including 34 for TV advertising and 11 for radio advertising.
Support conditions include covering up to 45 million won, within 50% of production costs for TV ads, and up to 3 million won, within 70% of costs for radio ads. The selection process for small business owners is still ongoing, with final results expected by April.
The Korea Communications Commission also revealed the effectiveness assessment of last year’s (2024) support project. According to the study, the 67 small businesses that received advertising support saw an average sales increase of 16.9% from 2023 to 2024, and their employment numbers rose by an average of 11.8%. Specifically, sales increased from 824.9 billion won to 964.3 billion won, while the number of employees grew from 2,829 to 3,163.
Moreover, companies invested a total of 18.8 billion won in advertising expenses, combining 2 billion won in government subsidies with 16.8 billion won of their own funds. This effort has contributed to creating new advertising demand and revitalizing the broadcast advertisement market.
Chairperson Lee Jin-suk noted, “We anticipate that broadcast advertisement production support will provide substantial help to small businesses struggling with economic downturns. We will actively promote this initiative to benefit even more companies moving forward.”
