Seoul announced that it has been airing the animation “Hatch and Tweety’s Hide and Seek,” in collaboration with the global media group Warner Bros. Discovery, to celebrate the first anniversary of the renewal of the character ‘Hatch’ since May.

The animation features Tweety from the Looney Tunes universe and Hatch engaging in a hide and seek game across major landmarks in Seoul. It is produced in a 2-minute and 22-second silent 2D format.

The animation was first broadcast on May 1 through the local Cartoon Network TV channel. From May 5, it started airing to 38 million households across six Asian countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, and will continue until July.

The animation reflects the image of Seoul with a light-hearted composition set against the city’s backdrop. Seoul is posting short and full versions of the video in 8 foreign languages, including English, Japanese, and Chinese, across its official English YouTube channel, multiple foreign language SNS channels, and Korean YouTube channel. The target audience comprises around 9.2 million subscribers.

Within three weeks of its release, it has surpassed 17 million cumulative views across Seoul’s official SNS channels and the Cartoon Network channel.

Starting next month, Seoul plans to produce limited edition goods using collaborative images and distribute them at major domestic and international events.

Min Soo-hong, Seoul’s Public Relations Planning Officer, stated, “Through the collaboration between Tweety and Hatch, we expect to enhance Hatch’s global recognition and for the charm and policies of Seoul to naturally be conveyed worldwide.”
