Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture will host the cultural and artistic festival ‘SEOUL SUMMER VIBE’ over two days at Nodeul Island on the Han River from June 13 to 14.

The festival, which began as the ‘Seoul B-Boy Festival’ in 2022 and underwent a major transformation as the ‘Seoul B-Dance Festival’ in 2024, aims to create an event that anyone can participate in, regardless of age or background. It expands into genres such as music, dance, exhibitions, and experiences, while incorporating social values, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.

On the 13th, the main stage on Nodeul Island will feature a music performance called ‘Music Vibe’. A ‘SING TOGETHER: Generational Sing-Along Concert’ will take place, where audiences will sing representative songs from various generations together. The performance includes the choir group ‘Harmoniaze’, the sign language idol ‘Big Ocean’, the big band ‘Breaking Symphonic’, and singer-songwriter ’10CM’, with sign language interpretation provided.

On the 14th, street dance competitions and citizen participation performances will continue. ‘8 Dance On Stage’ will feature performance battles among dancers from eight different genres, including breaking, krump, waacking, and house. ‘Beat On Stage’ will showcase the beatbox performance team ‘Beatpella House’ and the hip-hop duo ‘Dynamic Duo’. ‘K-POP Dance On Stage’ invites citizens to freely join the stage to random music.

The outdoor spaces of Nodeul Island will feature the ‘Art Vibe’ program. The ‘Graffiti On Han River’ exhibition will showcase graffiti using up-cycled materials such as discarded drums and surfboards, and there will be interactive programs like the ‘Graffiti Doodle Zone’. The indoor exhibition ‘Together, Han River’ will display artworks themed around the city and the Han River.

The ‘Cool & Chill Vibe’ offers a camping-themed relaxation space along with street fashion, beauty experiences, clothing alterations, and eco-friendly souvenir creation programs. Participants can also experience using an eco-friendly injection molding machine.

To ensure all citizens can freely participate, the festival will provide accessibility assistance such as sign language interpretation, wheelchair rentals, and information booths. Various artists from diverse backgrounds, including ‘Big Ocean’, the world’s first hearing-impaired idol group, and one-footed b-boy ‘Kim Wan-hyuk’, will perform on stage.

Song Hyung-jong, CEO of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, stated, “SEOUL SUMMER VIBE aims to be a festival for everyone that transcends generations and genres, firmly establishing itself as a cultural event that opens the summer in Seoul.”

All programs are free of charge.
