On May 8th, the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family donated 648 sets of play content supporting early childhood development to kindergartens and other institutions in Seoul at the Seoul Women’s Plaza.

The foundation held a donation ceremony at 4 PM at the Seoul Women’s Plaza with Bicycle, a company specializing in play content. Attendees included Park Jung-sook, the foundation’s head, Lee Do-hee, the CEO of Bicycle, and key figures from the kindergarten association.

The donated items consist of a music-based integrated development program called ‘Play Songs Home’. A total of 648 sets of kits, covering stages 1 to 4 for step-by-step education, amounting to approximately 60 million KRW, were included. These items will be distributed in connection with the foundation’s care projects in Seoul-type daycare centers, companion kindergartens, and kids’ cafes.

The foundation is also promoting online and offline education for care workers to enhance the utilization of the content and improve the quality of care services centered on children’s future capabilities in the AI era.

The Seoul Foundation of Women and Family is providing various field support, including consulting, content development, and workforce education, targeting care institutions across 25 districts in Seoul. This donation goes beyond simple material delivery and is part of practicing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) through public-private cooperation.

Park Jung-sook, representative of the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family, expressed gratitude to Bicycle for sharing the value of early childhood education and care, and stated, “We will expand various models based on public-private cooperation to enhance the future capabilities of children in Seoul.”.

The foundation is also preparing for subsequent sessions of the ‘Seoul Future Childcare Open Forum’ in the second half of this year to discuss childcare strategies in the AI era. Last month, the first session of the forum emphasized the need for child-led capability development.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family is an agency under the city of Seoul that oversees policies for low birth rates, gender equality, and care. It focuses on supporting the return of career-interrupted women and strengthening the public care system through ‘Seoul Women’s Plaza’ and ‘Seoul Family Plaza’.
