Seoul Baekje Museum will hold the ‘Children’s Love for the Country Festival’ on June 7 in celebration of ‘Protection and Patriotic Month’. The event will take place at both Hanseong Baekje Museum and its branch, the Seoul Baekje Children’s Museum, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This event is organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation. The museum announced that the event will provide children with the opportunity to understand the meaning of patriotism through experiences and performances.

At the Seoul Baekje Children’s Museum, programs such as making glowing wristbands with the Korean flag and creating Korean flag-themed diamond embroidery keychains will be available. Participants can join without prior registration.

A ‘Toy Flea Market’ will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Seoul Baekje Children’s Museum. Participants can apply through the museum’s Instagram account on a first-come, first-served basis for 12 families starting at 9 a.m. on May 26.

A children’s magic show will be held at 1 p.m. at the Seoul Baekje Children’s Museum and at 3 p.m. at the Hanseong Baekje Museum. Reservations for the performances can be made in advance on the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s public service reservation website starting at 9 a.m. on May 26.

At the main building of Hanseong Baekje Museum, activities such as making air gliders, creating a giant pinwheel, and decorating personal fans will be conducted. Traditional games like tuho (arrow-throwing), archery, jegichagi (Korean hacky sack), and yutnori (board game) can also be experienced at the same location.

The Seoul Baekje Children’s Museum will host programs such as pinwheel bubble making and personal fan decorating. All experience programs will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kim Ji-yeon, director of the Seoul Hanseong Baekje Museum, stated, “In honor of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, we have prepared a special festival where children can naturally cultivate a love for their country through play and experiences. We will strive to make the museum a place of education that instills a correct sense of history in children.”
