The Seongbuk Cultural Foundation will hold a family-participation cultural event titled “Arirang, Let’s Play Together!!” at Arirang Square in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, on May 24 (Saturday).
The event is planned to strengthen family bonds and facilitate intergenerational communication in celebration of Family Month. It is co-hosted by the Arirang Cine Center, Arirang Library, and Arirang Children’s Library under the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation.
Key programs include the screening of independent films centered on family themes, followed by talks with directors. There will also be a flea market with local sellers and diverse group performances by organizations from the Kookmin University community network.
The Arirang Library Network ‘Our Together’ will run promotional and experience booths for local groups. The Arirang Children’s Library will set up a pop-up playground for children.
Expanding participation among the culturally marginalized is central to the event’s planning. The event is designed to provide access to cultural activities for various groups, including children and the elderly. Digital content and eco-friendly practices will be applied throughout the event. Efforts to bridge cultural gaps between regions and foster community collaboration have been considered.
To ensure event safety, participating organizations will receive prior safety training, and event insurance has been secured. In case of rain, the event will be adjusted to proceed indoors.
The foundation plans to measure the effectiveness of the event through satisfaction surveys conducted on-site among participants and will promote cultural facility awareness through active SNS channel engagement.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 24, starting at 3 PM, around Arirang Square, 82 Arirang-ro, Seongbuk-gu.
