The Seodaemun District will host the youth flea market “Made By Youth” at the “1 Euro Project” complex cultural space in Bukgajwa-dong on the upcoming 9th.

This event is designed to facilitate communication between residents and young creators, provide indoor cultural activities during the summer, offer pathways for youth entrepreneurship, and revitalize the local economy.

The flea market will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day, featuring about 50 sellers, including individual participants and brand representatives, under the name “1 Euro 7-Day Market.” Participants will pay a fee of 1 Euro (about 1,600 won) to sell their goods. “7-Day Market” implies a market that opens once a week.

The same location will also host the “Bukgajwa Record Market,” organized by musicians and agencies based in the Seodaemun District. Starting at noon, performances by artist Jung Saebyeok and DJ Superfly will take place.

The “1 Euro Project” is a private venture that reinvents and utilizes neglected spaces. It was inspired by examples in some parts of Europe where unused spaces are offered for a rent of 1 Euro. In Korea, Bukgajwa-dong is the second example following Seongsu-dong.

Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun District, stated, “We expect the meeting of young entrepreneurs and local culture to bring new vitality to Bukgajwa-dong. We will support the joint growth of youth and the local community through various projects.”
