The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 11th that it will operate special viewing areas to ensure citizens can safely and comfortably enjoy the ‘Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2025’ set to take place on September 27.
On the day of the festival, Nodeul Island will be designated as ‘Seoul Fireworks Companion Island’. The island is located at a distance from the main event venue at Yeouido Hangang Park, which minimizes exposure to gunpowder fallout and fine dust. The number of spectators will be limited, allowing for a more comfortable viewing experience.
A total of 3,500 people can view the fireworks on this day, including 1,300 multicultural and single-parent families who are invited, along with 2,200 multi-child families who can participate on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for multi-child families open at noon on September 15 through the Seoul City’s public service reservation website.
Only holders of the ‘Seoul Multi-Child Happiness Card’ can apply, and accompanying members are limited to immediate family. Participants will be able to enter the event from 2 PM on the festival day after verifying their happiness card, ID, and family relationship certificate on site.
In addition, a special seating area will be arranged in Yeouido Hangang Park for 200 young adults, such as those preparing for self-reliance or those who have faced challenges participating in outdoor activities. The city anticipates that these individuals will be able to enjoy the festival and find renewed vitality in their daily lives.
Kim Tae-hee, Seoul’s Director of Culture Headquarters, commented, “This year’s fireworks festival includes special invitation seats so that no citizen feels excluded. We are preparing so all citizens can enjoy the festival conveniently and safely.”
