Samsung Electronics received gold awards for the home AI companion robot ‘Ballie’ and the portable projector’s package design ‘Bojagi’. In total, the company proved its global design competitiveness by receiving 36 awards in the product category, 8 in UX/UI, 9 in concept, 4 in communication, and 1 in service design.

The gold-winning ‘Ballie’ is a home AI companion robot that performs functions such as schedule management and home appliance control through AI-based lifestyle pattern analysis. Equipped with the world’s first dual projector, it supports both short and long-range projection, with a mobile projector function. It is scheduled to be launched domestically in the first half of this year. The friendly image is emphasized through its round shape, yellow color, and soft-touch design, as it greets users by making eye contact.

In the UX/UI category, awards went to the ‘Foldable Galaxy AI UX’, which provides real-time multilingual communication using dual screens, the ‘Bespoke Fridge UX’ that automatically recognizes and manages ingredients with a camera inside the refrigerator, and the ‘Newfound Equilibrium’ exhibition unveiled at the 2024 Milan Design Week, among others.

Roh Tae-moon, head of Samsung Electronics’ Design Management Center, stated, “We strive to move customers through innovative usability and design based on AI,” and added, “We will continuously provide designs that harmonize with changing lifestyles and contribute to society.”
