Samsung Electronics will start updating to ‘One UI 7’ from April 7. This update will be gradually applied to major models such as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Galaxy S23 series, and Galaxy Tab S10 series.
One UI 7 offers a more intuitive UI design and enhanced AI features. Personalization options for the home screen, widget, and lock screen are expanded, and the new ‘Now Bar’ allows users to check real-time activities directly from the lock screen. Users can change music or check fitness activities quickly and conveniently without unlocking the smartphone.
Galaxy AI features have been significantly upgraded. ‘AI Select’ automatically recommends functions such as translation, generative editing, and GIF creation based on the context of the screen being viewed by the user. For instance, by selecting ‘Create GIF’ while watching a video, it is immediately converted into a GIF file. ‘Writing Assist’ integrates functions such as text summarization, spelling and grammar checking, translation, and style adjustment to support writing tasks without switching apps.
AI features for creative use have also been added. ‘Audio Eraser’ allows AI to automatically categorize various sounds in recorded videos, letting users selectively remove them or adjust the volume. ‘Drawing Assist’ is a feature that can generate high-quality images from simple sketches.
Voice command and settings search features have been improved. By pressing the side button for a long time and saying, “Find an Italian restaurant where you can go with a pet,” the results can be checked directly on the map without searching manually. The settings search function has also been enhanced, so if you input “my eyes are tired,” AI automatically recommends appropriate settings such as ‘brightness optimization.’
The One UI 7 update will be distributed sequentially, starting in Korea and expanding to North America and Europe. Supported models include the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6/Flip6, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5/Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9 series, etc. Some functions will be applied differently depending on the model.
