On the 30th, Samsung Electronics will launch the ‘SmartThings Pro for Safety’, a B2B exclusive solution based on the ‘Galaxy Watch’.

The ‘SmartThings Pro for Safety’ solution supports real-time protection and management of industrial site workers’ safety by linking Samsung Electronics’ AI-based B2B solution ‘SmartThings Pro’ with the ‘Galaxy Watch’ LTE model. It is currently available on the ‘Galaxy Watch7’ LTE model, with plans to expand to more products in the future.

Site managers can monitor workers’ biometric data, such as skin temperature and heart rate, and environmental data, like surrounding temperature and humidity, in real time from the ‘SmartThings Pro’ dashboard on a PC or tablet.

The solution automatically sends emergency alerts to nearby workers and safety managers when changes in the working environment, such as a heat index exceeding normal levels or a fall, are detected. This enables quick responses to emergencies.

Additionally, if a worker enters a pre-designated danger zone, immediate alerts are sent to the worker, nearby colleagues, and safety managers to minimize potential risks.

If workers find themselves in enclosed spaces or recognize a fire, they can press the SOS button on the ‘Galaxy Watch’ safety management solution’s home screen, sending immediate alerts to nearby workers and safety managers. The manager can then locate the worker and initiate a voice call to address the situation.

The ‘SmartThings Pro for Safety’ solution not only enhances worker safety but also contributes to improving work efficiency. In large-scale business environments, managers can remotely communicate work or important notices. During a heatwave warning, alerts can be sent recommending caution against heat-related illnesses and advising breaks, while during a heavy rain warning, instructions for checking safety facilities and flood advisories can be dispatched.

Workers can check scheduled activities related to occupational health and safety training or facility inspections through their Galaxy Watch. Managers can also send safety messages via displays connected to SmartThings Pro.

Samsung Electronics explained that this solution can be used in various industries such as construction, production sites, logistics centers, public institutions, private companies, quarantine wards, and resorts. It also supports the continuous improvement of the working environment with its systematic data-based solution.

Park Chan-woo, Vice President of Samsung Electronics B2B Solution Team, stated, “With the combination of the health monitoring technology of the ‘Galaxy Watch’ and the data analysis of ‘SmartThings Pro’, we aim to support smart industrial site safety management,” and added, “We will continue to develop differentiated AI B2B solutions that can be applied to various industrial sites to contribute to worker safety protection and improvement of work productivity.”
