The donation will involve participation from eight Samsung affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and Samsung C&T.

Apart from the monetary donation, Samsung plans to provide 1,000 disaster relief kits comprising essential supplies and 600 residential tents for evacuees staying in temporary shelters.

Whenever a major disaster occurs domestically or internationally, Samsung has stepped up with emergency support. In 2023, during the wildfires in Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, and Gangwon Provinces, Samsung also donated 3 billion KRW and provided relief supplies. During the 2022 Uljin and Gangwon wildfires and the metropolitan area heavy rain, Samsung contributed the same amount along with relief items.

Internationally, Samsung has actively participated in disaster response efforts. At the beginning of the year, Samsung donated home appliances worth 1 million USD to support the victims of the major Los Angeles wildfire in the United States, and provided 3 million USD in donations and relief supplies during the 2023 Turkey earthquake.
