The Ministry of Science and ICT will re-announce the national artificial intelligence (AI) computing center construction project from June 2 to June 13. This re-announcement is proceeding without changing the existing application requirements.
The core of this project is the establishment of a Special Purpose Company (SPC) through joint investment by the public and private sectors to build a national-level AI computing center. The center will provide the required high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs) to the industry and research sectors.
The government plans to create demand for domestic AI semiconductors through this project and expand cooperation with global companies. Additionally, by linking with national research and development (R&D) performance, it aims to strengthen the overall AI technology ecosystem.
