On the morning of June 26, 2025, a photo taken in the forest area of Ansan in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, revealed changes in vegetation after the rain passed. Due to the rain that fell the previous day, water droplets were collected on the surfaces of various plants such as leaves, grass blades, and wildflowers, and the green color appeared more vivid than usual.
The droplets were primarily gathered along the leaf edges or veins, reflecting sunlight and making the surface sheen more pronounced. The broad-leaved and herbaceous plants, soaked by the rain, are quickly continuing their growth as they absorb the soil’s moisture.
Meanwhile, although the forest immediately after the rain offers a beautiful landscape, caution is advised when hiking.
Post-rain hiking safety tips:
- Wear hiking boots with high grip to prevent slipping.
- Avoid entering areas at risk of rockfall or near valleys.
- It is recommended to use auxiliary equipment such as canes when walking on wet tree roots or rocks.
- Check the weather conditions in advance and refrain from hiking if rain is forecasted.
A beautiful forest becomes a safe path only for those who are prepared.
