NHN KCP Holds ‘Circular Economy Education’ for Employees, Expanding ESG Practices

NHN KCP announced on the 18th that it conducted ‘Circular Economy Education for a Sustainable Future’ for employees at its headquarters in Guro-gu, Seoul, in cooperation with NHN Payco on the 17th.

This education was prepared as part of NHN KCP’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities. Hong Soo-yeol, head of the Resource Circulation Society Economic Research Institute, participated as a speaker. The lecture covered the topic of ‘Environmental and Waste Issues, Proper Separation Methods,’ explaining specific, practical ways to separate waste in daily life, and the concept and necessity of a circular economy.

Hong emphasized, “For a sustainable society, both consumers and companies need to change their perceptions,” adding, “Accurate separation is the starting point of resource circulation.”

NHN KCP annually conducts special lectures on various ESG-related topics, such as the environment, fair trade, and corporate ethics, for its employees. Employees who attended the education shared their awareness of environmental issues and expressed their commitment to actively participating in corporate ESG practices in the future.

NHN KCP explained that this education has prompted employees to specifically consider ESG practices and made companies recognize environmental issues as a strategic task. They plan to continue expanding the culture of ESG practice through education and internal campaigns in various fields.

NHN KCP provides e-commerce infrastructure based on its business in payment gateway (PG) and value-added network (VAN), focusing on easy payment, settlement, and security. It currently holds the number one market share in the domestic electronic payment service market and, for the first time in the industry last year, surpassed an annual revenue of 1 trillion won.

Additionally, they are expanding their business areas with projects such as local currency business, digital asset-based payment services, and trade payment. They intend to grow into a comprehensive merchant service company based on their payment technology.
