Seoul’s Nowon District announced on the 3rd that it will host a series of nature-themed exhibitions at the Gyeongchun Line Forest Gallery and the Bulamsan Art Foret Gallery.
The Gyeongchun Line Forest Gallery will feature an international collaborative exhibition titled “Flower’s Memory,” organized in cooperation with the Embassy of El Salvador in Korea. The exhibition runs from September 4 to 10, open from 2 PM to 8 PM on weekdays, and from noon to 8 PM on weekends.
This exhibition will present 39 works including paintings, photographs, and videos by Salvadoran young artist Andre Minato. The pieces use iconic flowers, plants, and traditional legends of El Salvador as motifs, utilizing paper sculptures and installations to create large sculptures and immersive spaces. A canvas painted with coffee-based pigments will also be showcased.
The exhibition commemorates the 63rd anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and El Salvador and highlights the significance of cultural exchange between Nowon District and El Salvador. El Salvador participated in the “Nowon Coffee Festival” hosted by Nowon District in both 2024 and 2025, and the Nowon Cultural Foundation is in the process of establishing a cultural exchange agreement with the Embassy of El Salvador.
At the Bulamsan Art Foret Gallery in Bulamsan Healing Town, a National Geographic wildlife photo exhibition will be hosted. Running from September 19 to November 18, the exhibition is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, except on Mondays and the day of Chuseok.
Visitors can view over 20 nature and ecology photographs and documentary videos owned by the National Geographic Korea branch. The exhibition will also feature booths for magazine subscriptions, photograph collections, and goods sales.
Through these two exhibitions, Nowon District aims to convey a message of healing, bridging art and nature. At the Gyeongchun Line Forest Gallery, the myths and flowers of a distant continent are reborn as art, while at the Bulamsan Art Foret Gallery, the world’s wildlife comes back to life in photographs.
Oh Seung-rok, mayor of Nowon District, said, “The exhibitions of Salvadoran young artists and National Geographic demonstrate the cultural depth of Nowon. We hope residents will enjoy the diverse exhibitions nearby and welcome a bountiful autumn.”
