The National Naju Hospital and the Korea Environment Corporation’s Gwangju Jeonnam Jeju Environment Headquarters signed a business agreement on March 25, 2025, to promote workplace mental health and practice ESG management. The signing ceremony took place in the conference room of Naju Hospital, where both organizations agreed to cooperate in developing convergent services to alleviate employee stress and create sustainable social value.

This agreement aims to establish a one-stop support system to address workplace mental health issues. According to statistics from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, the stress recognition rate among workers aged 19 to 65 is 28.5%, about twice as high as that of the elderly. In response, the National Naju Hospital plans to offer customized mental health services to Korea Environment Corporation employees, combining stress diagnosis, mental health counseling, and forest therapy programs.

The mental health support program is composed of measuring physiological responses using medical devices, expert consultations, and forest healing sessions in collaboration with the Jeonnam Forest Research Institute. The ‘Chaewoorim Forest Healing Program’ focuses on diagnosing stress indicators using digital equipment and guiding psychological stabilization.

Meanwhile, the Korea Environment Corporation plans to strengthen its ESG management base by establishing a recycling resource circulation system, providing on-site separation inspections and solutions, and promoting joint campaigns on Resource Circulation Day. Additionally, they plan to operate programs for the socially marginalized, such as making keyrings using coffee grounds and eco-friendly soap.

Si Young Hwa, Acting Director of National Naju Hospital, stated, “The recovery of workers’ mental health will contribute to enhancing corporate productivity and organizational culture,” and emphasized efforts to raise social awareness about the importance of mental health.

Through this agreement, both organizations aim to continuously expand the collaborative model that encompasses mental health and environmental issues.
