The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is recruiting young ambassadors for the prevention of charter fraud, known as ‘Safe Charter Scrutiny’. The recruitment runs from April 11 to 27.
The ‘Safe Charter Scrutiny’ involves completing charter fraud prevention education provided by the Ministry and participating in the creation and dissemination of online content that conveys safe charter contract information tailored to a youthful perspective.
Applicants can be university students or graduate students nationwide who are currently enrolled or on a leave of absence and are interested in charter fraud prevention. Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the Ministry’s blog and sending it via email.
About 30 individuals will be selected through document screening and interviews. The final selected ambassadors will commence their activities with an inauguration ceremony and will participate from May to November, spanning six months.
Participants will carry out missions each month, centered around the theme of secure charter contracts, and join both online and offline campaigns. During the activity period, a specified activity fee will be provided, along with support for various educational programs such as content creation education and policy mentoring. A certificate of completion will be issued upon meeting the completion criteria.
Outstanding activity teams and contest-winning teams will be awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award. The contest will be conducted in a way that allows participants to propose policy ideas based on their experiences throughout the activities.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, 74.3% of charter fraud victims belong to the 20-30 age group. Therefore, enhancing the contractual understanding of the youth, who typically have limited experience with charter contracts, has emerged as a crucial task in preventing charter fraud.
Han Seong-su, head of the Charter Fraud Victim Support Group at the Ministry, stated, “We will promote effective campaigns to ensure young people stepping into society can safely enter into charter contracts.”
