The Ministry of Environment and the National Park Service held an electric vehicle camping event at Seoraksan National Park Campsite from June 7 to 8. The event aimed to promote the convenience and practicality of electric vehicles and highlight the environmental values and benefits of zero-emission vehicles.
Participating organizations included Sokcho City, the Korea Environment Corporation, the Korea Automobile Environmental Association, the Korea EV Users Association, Hyundai Motor, Kia, and LG HelloVision. The event attracted approximately 500 participants, including 100 teams with electric vehicles and 100 general camping teams.
Main activities included an opening ceremony, lectures on electric car camping know-how, a music concert, an environmental quiz, and recreational activities. The focus was on showcasing the functions of electric vehicles under the slogan “Enjoy camping, protect the environment, brighten the future.”

In particular, the Vehicle to Load (V2L) function, which allows electric vehicles to supply stored battery power to outdoor electronic devices, was demonstrated using cooking appliances, lighting, and heating and cooling equipment.
Mobile chargers were also available on-site to provide immediate charging for vehicles with low battery levels. These portable chargers allow electric vehicle users to charge without the constraints of location and time.
The event will be produced in collaboration with LG HelloVision and posted on the Ministry of Environment’s website and YouTube channel.
Oh Il-young, the Director of Air Environment Policy at the Ministry of Environment, stated, “We aimed to promote the distinct advantages of electric vehicles and contribute to the expansion of their use.”
