In response to the crisis of rural depopulation and to create sustainable rural areas, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is holding the ‘Rural Space Competition 2025’.

The theme of the competition is ‘A new countryside open to everyone for living, working, and resting’. Applications will be accepted from April 14 to July 4. The ministry aims to discover a variety of ideas envisioning the future of rural areas and incorporate them into policy.

This year’s competition integrates the previously separate ‘Korean Rural Architecture Exhibition’, ‘Korean Rural Planning Competition’, and ‘Rural Landscape Photo and Video Contest’. It is structured to comprehensively highlight the diverse spatial values of rural areas, including architecture, planning, and landscape.
