From May 7th to 9th, LG Energy Solution will participate in the “InterBattery Europe 2025” held at Messe Munich in Germany.

This year’s exhibition theme is “Empower Every Possibility, Empower Whenever You Need.”

LG Energy Solution will unveil a new power grid ESS (Energy Storage System) product featuring European-made LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells applied in a 20ft standard container type for the first time at this exhibition. The company has reduced the distance between modules to improve energy density and enhanced cooling performance while incorporating heat-blocking technology for added safety.

The product will feature the latest ESS-dedicated LFP cell JF2S, set to be produced at the Wrocław plant in Poland. The JF2S cell boasts about 2.7 times improved energy capacity and an ultra-long lifespan of up to 15,000 cycles compared to the JF1, offering differentiated competitiveness in performance and safety.

LG Energy Solution will also present a household ESS product. The ‘JF1R’ model features a simple plug-and-play approach allowing a single technician to install it without any bolt fixing in under 10 minutes. It meets European quality standards and comes with a maximum 15-year warranty while improving the accuracy of battery residual estimation.

Additionally, the exhibition will feature a high-output battery system for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) targeting the continuously growing global AI data center market. LG Energy Solution’s UPS battery system, with high energy density and high output performance, can be installed in small spaces, maximizing backup power.

In one section of the exhibition hall, a ‘battery passport’ was unveiled for the first time. It digitally manages all information regarding battery performance, composition, and carbon emissions, aimed at addressing European Union (EU) regulations.

LG Energy Solution is developing its battery regulatory management solution based on this system, reflecting its consideration of ESG management and supply chain transparency.

Hyung-Sik Kim, head of the ESS Cell Business Division, stated, “In the rapidly expanding European market for ESS, including power grids, households, and UPS, we are proactively responding to customer needs based on the highest quality and local production systems.” He added, “We will continue to thoroughly respond to the changing policy environment and provide an integrated solution encompassing both software and hardware, further solidifying our ESS leadership in Europe.”
