On March 21 local time, LG Electronics’ American branch held ‘LG College Day’ by inviting about 50 students enrolled in Korean language courses at Princeton University to its North American headquarters. Attendees toured the showroom within the company building, where they were introduced to the latest wireless display technologies like the LG Signature OLED T and StanbyME, as well as corporate culture and ESG activities.

LG College Day, which began in 2022, is conducted annually for students majoring in Korean at prestigious nearby universities. In the first half of this year, multiple schools, including Princeton, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, Brown, New York University, and Wesleyan University, are expected to participate. The event introduces various technologies ranging from LG Electronics’ market competitiveness in the U.S. to future innovations such as AI Home and robotics.

LG Electronics anticipates this program will provide an opportunity for interest in the Korean language and K-culture to positively impact the company’s brand. They aim to achieve both reaching new customers and securing talent through communication with local students.

During the event, ESG management activities were also highlighted. Students showed great interest in LG Electronics’ ongoing ‘Endangered Species Protection Campaign’ and efforts to preserve biodiversity through the ‘Pollinator Garden’ within the company headquarters. The North American headquarters of LG Electronics is LEED Platinum certified for eco-friendly building design and is actively involved in community contributions, including a clothing recycling campaign and donations for students from low-income backgrounds.

Jung Gyu-hwang, Vice President and head of the North American region for LG Electronics, stated, “We will continue to expand communication with customers from various generations, including local university students in the U.S.”
