L&F, a global comprehensive battery material company, will participate in ‘InterBattery 2025’, Korea’s largest battery industry exhibition held at COEX in Seoul from March 5th to 7th. This year, they plan to operate an independent booth expanded by 3.75 times from last year to 270m² (approximately 82 pyeong), focusing on highlighting next-generation battery material technology and global production systems.

‘InterBattery’, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is marking its 13th anniversary as a global battery industry specialized exhibition. This year’s participating companies have increased by 12.3% compared to last year, recording the largest scale ever with over 650 companies.

L&F plans to accelerate its advance into the global market with a two-track strategy focusing on ▲LFP cathode material and ▲High-nickel NCM cathode material under the theme ‘Leading the Future’. Focusing on introducing its successful mass production technology of LFP cathode materials for the first time in Korea and its production plans in the United States, L&F aims to strengthen its status as a leading player in the next-generation battery material market.

The exhibition space is divided into four areas: ▲Innovating the Future (NCM/LFP cathode material), ▲Global Energy Drive (overseas LFP cathode material business), ▲Sustainable Future (new business), and ▲Vision for Tomorrow (future vision). In the cathode material exhibition zone, L&F’s unique LFP process technology providing higher productivity and price competitiveness compared to existing technologies will be unveiled. L&F has established an LFP cathode material pilot line in its Gugi Plant No. 3 in Daegu and aims to achieve Korea’s first LFP mass production by 2026.

They will also showcase high-performance cathode active materials targeting the high-performance electric vehicle market. This product, which is the world’s first commercialized cathode active material with a 95% nickel content for 46mm diameter batteries, applies both polycrystalline and monocrystalline technologies to dramatically improve energy density, battery life, and safety compared to existing products. This is expected to contribute to extending electric vehicle driving range and enhancing battery performance. L&F was recognized for its innovative technology and achieved an award in the Material/Component category in the ‘InterBattery Awards 2025’.

L&F is also speeding up the establishment of production bases for entering the North American market. They are targeting to produce LFP cathode material in North America for the first time by the second half of 2027 in line with the effectuation of the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and plan to aggressively target the mid-to-lower segment electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) markets by applying the same technology and processes as their domestic pilot lines.

In the Sustainable Future zone, LS-L&F Battery Solution (LLBS)’s precursor business and recycling technology for used batteries will be disclosed, and in the Vision for Tomorrow zone, an advanced production system will be showcased through smart factory establishment updates and factory drone footage.

L&F CEO Choi Soo-an said, “Even in an uncertain market, we are continuously opening the future of battery material technology through relentless innovation,” adding, “The successful mass production of LFP cathode materials in Korea and the commercialization of high-nickel composite cathode active materials worldwide are prime examples proving L&F’s technological prowess.” He emphasized, “Through this exhibition, L&F will showcase its differentiated technology and production systems that leap into the global leader.”

During the exhibition period, L&F will also run educational programs for future battery industry talents by inviting students and a stamp tour for general visitors, and pursue recruitment of outstanding talents through on-site interviews and HR mentoring at the simultaneously held ‘InterBattery Job Fair’. Additionally, business collaboration plans with major customers and partners will be discussed.
