Admission confirmed simultaneously with enrollment
Concurrent work at companies starting from the sophomore year

Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH, President Yukilsang) announced on the 18th that it will establish a ‘Chungnam-style contracted department’ for the 2026 academic year to nurture tailored talent for companies located in Chungcheongnam-do.
The newly created department is the ‘Semiconductor and Display Engineering Department’, where the university and companies sign educational and employment contracts, ensuring employment upon admission. From the sophomore year (third semester for master’s), students will participate in a cooperative education model that combines company work and studies.
The program aims to nurture key personnel in materials, parts, and equipment fields required by the semiconductor and display industries in the Chungnam region, recruiting 40 undergraduates and 25 graduates. Undergraduate graduation requires 120 credits, and master’s requires 30 credits, with participation in on-site company projects being mandatory.
Undergraduate applications open from September 8 to 12, with the first phase selecting four times the enrollments based purely on comprehensive student assessments. The second phase combines 60% of the first phase score and 40% from interviews with professors and companies to make the final selection. The master’s program is scheduled for recruitment in October, with selection based on documentation in the first phase and interviews in the second phase.
Tuition is fully covered for the first year of undergraduate and the first two semesters of master’s, with a 50% reduction for undergraduate second and third years and the third semester of master’s. Small to medium enterprise workers must participate in a ‘large savings’ system, accumulating 2 million KRW annually through contributions from the company, student, and university over two years post-graduation, totaling 12 million KRW.
Curricula are designed to be industry-tailored. The first-year undergraduates focus intensively on foundational courses, while second and third years complete practical and advanced courses jointly designed by the university and companies. The master’s program operates based on corporate technical needs, with the goal of strengthening research and development (R&D) capabilities assigned by dedicated advisors.
Currently, contracted companies include SFA Semiconductor, Exicon, Enchem, YCI, TSE, CIS, and Unielius HKR, with more companies continually joining.
President Yukilsang stated, “The Chungnam-style contracted department provides stable employment upon admission and supplies practical talent to companies. We will support talents with specialized skills to play leading roles in the industry.”
