On the 18th, the Korea Intellectual Property Office announced that it held an Intellectual Property (IP) career forum together with Chungnam National University and local companies at the Convergence Education Innovation Center of Chungnam National University.

This forum was held to support the career exploration of students majoring in IP at Chungnam National University and to strengthen IP education cooperation with local companies. Chungnam National University is one of the nine IP-focused universities nationwide, specializing in nurturing IP professionals for national strategic technologies and regional key industries.

The event consisted of two sessions. In the ‘Intellectual Property Career Forum,’ cases of employment, further studies, and start-ups by Chungnam National University students, such as joining LG Energy Solution, admission to Chungnam National University’s Law School, and starting an industrial robot business, were presented. A Q&A session also took place between presenters and students in attendance.

In the ‘IP Education Cooperation Meeting,’ discussions were held with ten local companies on topics such as the establishment of IP education programs and the operation of industry-academia linked IP practice programs to revitalize the local IP education ecosystem. Participating companies included Bionia Co., Plasmap Co., and Carbo Expert Co.

This event was organized to coincide with the 60th anniversary of Invention Day. It is part of a collaborative effort among the government, universities, and companies to foster young IP talents and enhance regional IP competitiveness.

Commissioner Kim Wan-gi of the Korea Intellectual Property Office stated, “Chungnam National University plays a pivotal role in IP education in the Daejeon area,” and added, “The Korea Intellectual Property Office will continue to provide support to cultivate regional IP talents and enhance competitiveness.”
