This volunteer activity was a joint social contribution initiative by Hanwha and the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, aimed at supporting rural areas suffering from labor shortages due to population decline and aging. About 40 employees participated in the volunteer work at the Imjin Cooperative apple farm, helping with tasks such as thinning fruit, organizing orchards, and tidying up farmland.

Employee Park Seong-jun from Hanwha said, “Knowing that the apples I personally cared for will be delivered to the underprivileged in the fall is rewarding.” Human Resources Support Team Leader Lee Young-chan stated, “This is the second time we’ve carried out this rural volunteer activity with the Agricultural Cooperative after last year. Regularizing it could provide employees with opportunities to contribute to the local community.”

True to Hanwha Group’s philosophy of ‘growing together,’ the company practices ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. In October last year, Hanwha hosted the ‘Seoul World Fireworks Festival with Hanwha’ and continues to carry out various social contribution activities, such as the Forena Library Project and a youth self-reliance support program.
