Chilean premium wine ‘Amelia Chardonnay’ has been selected as a promotion item for the ‘Wine of the Month’ at GS25, and will be sold at a special price at all GS25 stores nationwide from April 1 to 30. This selection was the result of a direct evaluation by a total of 12 wine experts, including the national sommelier.

Amelia Chardonnay is a premium white wine produced by the global wine group Viña Concha y Toro. The grapes are grown in the Quebrada Seca vineyard of Chile’s Limarí Valley, a region esteemed for its maritime climate and limestone-rich soil, contributing to a terroir known for its natural acidity and high mineral content.

This wine has consistently received high praise from global wine critics. James Suckling awarded the 2022 vintage a 97-point score, and Master of Wine Tim Atkin described it as having a quality comparable to Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru. Additionally, Robert Parker gave it a 95+ score and Wine Spectator rated it 93 points.

The brand takes inspiration from Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic, and is currently represented by Lady Amelia Windsor, a member of the British royal family, as its ambassador.

Previously, Amelia Chardonnay was distributed through high-end channels such as Japan Airlines first class, Harrods in the UK, and Isetan in Japan. Through this entry into GS25, the brand aims to improve accessibility to premium wines and expand its consumer base.

Kang Solbin, MD of the GS Retail alcoholic beverage team, said, “Amelia Chardonnay is a symbolic product that redefined the quality level of Chilean wine,” and added, “We will continue to introduce valuable wines to consumers in the future.”
