The Chair of the Gangbuk District Council, Kim Myung-hee (representing Beon 1 and 2-dong, Suyu 2 and 3-dong), announced that she attended the ‘Love Ramen Tree’ event held at the Pine Tree Hall of the Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center on the 2nd of last month to participate in community sharing activities.
The ‘Love Ramen Tree’ is a social contribution event organized by the Gangbuk Cultural Center to return the interest and support of local residents, and this year marks its third anniversary. Selected as a support project by the Korea Racing Authority, it has established itself as a representative sharing event in the region.
The event began with a ramen donation ceremony, followed by a traditional Korean percussion performance, commendation of contributors, and cultural performances. Particularly this year, the Gangbuk Art Association donated over 20 artworks to hold a ‘Painting Donation Exhibition’, which combined culture and sharing in a new type of donation event that caught the attention.

Chair Kim Myung-hee attended the ramen donation ceremony with Director Hwang Jung-hee of the Gangbuk Cultural Center, preparing to deliver 10,000 carefully collected packs of ramen to neighbors in need. In addition, she contributed the entire prize money from the ‘2025 Seoul City Council Members Unity Sports Competition’ ‘Consolation Prize’ to the cultural center to add to the meaning.
Chair Kim stated, “The ‘Love Ramen Tree’, now in its third year, has become a precious tradition that brings together the community’s heart,” adding, “Just as Korean ramen is loved globally as K-food, the continuous sharing activities of the cultural center symbolize the strength of Gangbuk culture.”
She continued by expressing gratitude to Director Hwang Jung-hee and his staff, who have continuously led local culture with new attempts, and promised that the district council would firmly support Gangbuk’s culture to advance onto a broader stage.
