Data organization and analysis are fundamental to all office tasks. However, users still need to search, input, and directly write formulas. The American AI startup Genspark introduced “AI Sheets,” which replaces this entire process with a single command.
AI Sheets allow users to input requests in simple sentences, automatically gathering related data from the web and organizing it into tables. For example, if you input “Organize the monthly average temperature in Seoul from 2020 to 2025,” the AI will automatically find the data, create a table, and even generate a graph visualizing the changes. There is no need to create formulas or charts.

Existing documents can also be utilized. PDFs, Word documents, existing Excel files, and even tables in images can be imported and converted into analyzable formats. This transforms scattered document resources into data assets.
The level of automation is also different from before. Information that users had to find themselves is now searched and formatted by AI through web searches, eliminating duplicates and clearly stating the source. Anyone can analyze data without complex formulas.
The application range is broad as well. Information can be extracted automatically from YouTube videos, mass customer emails can be generated, and marketing images can be created automatically. This is an extension of the traditional spreadsheet ‘calculator’ function, expanding into an automated platform that handles text, images, and voice.
Genspark stated, “The goal of AI Sheets is to lower the bar for data analysis and eliminate repetitive tasks.” They added, “We aim to create an environment where anyone can work like an analyst.”
The market for work automation is rapidly restructuring by combining with generative AI technology. Genspark’s initiative is not just about technological enhancement but is part of a trend to fundamentally change the concept of office tools.
