The first Korean hybrid long-haul airline, Air Premia, has taken an initiative in environmental protection activities for community harmony.

Air Premia stated that it conducted a ‘plogging’ campaign in the Seoul Botanic Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on March 24. Plogging is an activity that combines jogging with picking up trash, allowing participants to practice health improvement and environmental protection simultaneously.

About 40 participants, including newly hired cabin crew under training and senior crew members, took part in the event. They divided into groups to undertake environmental cleanup activities around the Botanic Park and shared work-related information, fostering a spirit of community.

Air Premia has newly incorporated programs of social contribution and company promotion experience into the training curriculum for flight attendants. This initiative is designed so that new flight attendants naturally acquire a sense of empathy and belonging, which are essential in the aviation service industry.

Moon Ji-o, a new flight attendant participating in the campaign, expressed, “I felt a sense of responsibility for environmental protection while participating in plogging with colleagues, and I plan to continue such practices in the future.”

Meanwhile, Air Premia is expanding its efforts to protect the environment by using reusable tableware and eco-friendly plastic products on board. In its long-haul premium economy routes, the airline is applying sustainable values across its operations by offering ‘reusable kits’ made from sustainable materials.
