The Amsa Greenway, connecting the Preserved Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement and Gwangnaru Hangang Park as part of the “Great Hangang Project” promoted by Seoul City, was completed and opened on the 29th after 15 years.

This greenway is designed as an urban ecological path featuring both bicycle lanes and pedestrian paths, with a total area of 6,300㎡ and a width of 50m. It directly links the two previously disconnected areas separated by the Olympic Highway, and it is the second such pedestrian connection in Seoul following the Mangwon Greenway in 2014.

The opening ceremony included a performance of comb-pattern pottery, reflecting the uniqueness of the Amsa-dong Prehistoric Site. Afterward, Mayor Oh and the attendees walked along the newly built greenway to celebrate its opening.

During the ceremony, Mayor Oh Se-hoon commented, “The Amsa Greenway is a space containing the long-standing wishes of the residents of Gangdong District and Seoulites. It is a representative example of how we can enjoy the Hangang River more closely in daily life.”

The Amsa Greenway is expected to become not only a pedestrian pathway but also a living green corridor connecting urban nature and heritage.
