The service aims to simplify the quarantine procedures for international entrants and reduce the risk of infectious disease influx.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), in accordance with the Inspection Act, designates regions with disease infiltration concerns as quarantine management areas. Visitors to these locations must fill out and submit a health status questionnaire detailing personal information, countries visited, and symptom status. Q-CODE is an electronic system that allows international entrants to input their health information in advance via mobile, receive a QR code, and undergo expedited entry inspection.

The newly linked service with Naver significantly reduces the personal information input required for Q-CODE usage. Previously, 11 fields needed input, but with automatic synchronization with Naver member information, six fields are omitted.

Users need only input five fields: mode of transportation, final departure country, arrival date, countries visited, and symptoms. Basic information such as the English name, passport number, and residence address registered in the Naver account is input only once and automatically synchronized thereafter.

This service can be accessed by entering ‘Naver Quarantine Information Pre-Input’ in the Naver search bar or through the Naver app menu (three lines in the top left corner > Authentication > Quarantine Information Pre-Input). A link to ‘Naver Quarantine Information Quick Access’ is also provided on the KDCA Q-CODE website.

Jang Joon-gi, Vice President of Naver, stated, “By collaborating with the KDCA, we have created an environment that prevents disease infiltration and allows international entrants to pass through entry procedures more easily and quickly. We will continue to expand digital services that the public can tangibly experience through cooperation with public institutions in the future.”

Lim Seung-gwan, Commissioner of the KDCA, expressed, “The connection with Naver has made the use of Q-CODE by international entrants much more convenient. We expect it to enhance quarantine efficiency and effectively block disease inflow. We will continue to enhance public-private cooperation to improve quarantine and infectious disease response services to ensure the safety and convenience of the public.”
