The 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee (Chairman: Kim Min-seok, Prime Minister, hereinafter referred to as the Carbon Neutral Committee) has appointed singer and actor Chuu (real name: Kim Ji-woo) and broadcaster Julian Quintart as ‘Net Zero Ambassadors’ to spread public participation in carbon neutrality.
The Carbon Neutral Committee announced on the 4th that this appointment aims to more effectively convey the ‘Green Benefits’ campaign, which contains the message that ‘an eco-friendly lifestyle directly results in economic benefits’, to the public.

Singer and actor Chuu (26) is considered a representative artist of the MZ generation with her bright and positive image. Through her YouTube channel ‘Guardian Chuu of the Earth’, she has consistently introduced various eco-friendly lifestyle practices such as reducing single-use items, making vegan burgers, and recycling. Recently, she appeared as the main model in the Carbon Neutral Committee’s public service ad ‘Chuu of the Green Benefits’, expressing carbon neutrality as a ‘beneficial lifestyle habit’ that can be practiced in daily life, gaining significant attention.
Chuu expressed her aspiration by saying, “I believe carbon neutrality is not a grand scheme but a small choice I can make right now. I hope my bright energy can be shared with many people as ‘Green Benefits’. She plans to participate in promotional videos and SNS campaigns by the Carbon Neutral Committee to spread messages about practicing carbon neutrality in everyday life.
Belgian broadcaster Julian Quintart (38), who was jointly appointed, has been simultaneously pursuing broadcasting activities and environmental movements, demonstrating a ‘sustainable life’. He participated in events such as the ‘Climate Change Week’ opening ceremony and ‘World Environment Day’ this year and received a commendation from the Minister of Environment.
Julian generated buzz by holding an eco-friendly wedding utilizing costumes made from corn and sugarcane extracts and a vegan menu on the 11th. He plans to share his experiences of practicing carbon neutrality in daily life through the Carbon Neutral Committee’s official YouTube content by sharing a wedding review.
He stated, “The climate crisis is an issue that requires a collaborative solution beyond nationality and generations. I want to showcase the power of net zero achieved by small changes to the world.”
The Carbon Neutral Committee is expected to be restructured as the ‘National Climate Crisis Response Committee’ from January 1 next year, with strengthened roles and status. In preparation, they are promoting an integrated communication campaign with direct public participation.
Through this ambassador appointment, the aim is to spread the practice of carbon neutrality not as a ‘burdensome obligation’ but as a ‘pleasant and beneficial culture’. Kim Jong-ryul, deputy secretary-general of the Carbon Neutral Committee, mentioned, “Chuu and Julian Quintart will play significant roles in conveying the positive value of carbon neutrality to the public with their approachable and sincere image. We will continue to expand a cultural practice of dealing with the climate crisis in daily life, together with the public.”
