LG Electronics, led by CEO Cho Joo-wan, is introducing new AI laundry appliances tailored to diverse customer lifestyles.
These new products include a total of four models: the LG Tromm AI Washing Machine (25kg), LG Tromm AI Dryer (25kg), LG Tromm AI Objet Collection Wash Tower (washing and drying 23kg), and the LG Tromm AI Wash Combo Compact (washing 11kg and drying 6kg). LG Electronics will begin sequential releases starting with the AI washing machine and AI dryer on the 30th.
The AI Wash Tower has equal washing and drying capacities of 23kg, allowing users to move large loads directly from the washing machine to the dryer without separating them. It is equipped with a 7-inch display for easy operation and information checking. LG Electronics has previously offered combinations of 23, 24, and 25kg washing machines with 20, 21, 22, and 25kg dryers, as well as a compact model with 13kg washing and 10kg drying. The company plans to continue introducing refined capacity combinations based on customer needs.
The AI Wash Combo Compact is designed for one- to two-person households. Compared to existing models, its height, width, and depth have been reduced by 14cm, 10cm, and 25cm respectively, making it suitable for narrow utility rooms or studio apartments. By adding a Mini Wash (2.5kg) at the bottom, delicate clothing like underwear can be washed separately. The Wash Combo’s ability to handle washing and drying in a continuous cycle with a single button press has maintained its popularity since last year’s release.
The AI washing machines and dryers will be released with a maximum domestic capacity of 25kg, making it easy to wash and dry bulky laundry like thick winter blankets. With the ‘Smart On’ feature, it automatically powers on when the door is closed, activating immediately.
The new products are available in additional colors such as taupe and almond, alongside existing options like essence white, green, beige, black, and modern stainless steel, allowing for selection based on interior design preferences.
LG Electronics has smartly integrated core component technology and AI to control the washing and drying processes. The AI DD Motor selects the optimal motion from six options based on the fabric material, level of soiling, and load size to minimize fabric damage. The ‘AI Time Sensing’ feature estimates wash and dry times about three seconds after the laundry is placed inside, while the ‘AI Time Guide’ function increasingly predicts drying time accurately based on the user’s environment.
All new models qualify for a rebate as they boast top-grade energy efficiency ratings. The suggested retail prices are 2.49 million won for the AI Wash Combo Compact, 2.1 million won for the AI Washing Machine, 2.44 million won for the AI Dryer, and 4.44 million won for the AI Wash Tower.
