Seoul’s Dongjak District announced on the 3rd that it has established an experiential media platform called ‘Dongjak Open Studio’ on the first basement level of its new office building, aimed at local residents.
The open studio, measuring 38.84 square meters, is equipped with professional filming equipment and lighting, accommodating all facilities necessary for video production. It has been designed as an open space accessible to all residents.
Before the official opening, the district will run a ‘3D experiential sketch media art wall’ from September 4 to 5. This program uses a 9-meter large LED screen to display 3D graphics of drawings created and scanned by children and family visitors, which can be viewed in real-time.
This event will be conducted in conjunction with the newly installed slide sculpture ‘D-LIDE’ in the new office building, providing unique experiences for the residents. Through this event, the district plans to widely promote the Open Studio and establish a media culture space that bridges generations.
In the future, the Open Studio is considering a variety of programs, including community participation venue operations, broadcasting academies for children, YouTube video production by residents, and content filming in collaboration with professional broadcasting stations.
Dongjak District Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “The Dongjak Open Studio is an open space where all residents can experience broadcasting and media,” and added, “Starting with the art wall event, we will create a new digital communication culture alongside the residents.”
