Seoul Mapo-gu has announced on the 2nd that it will hold a ‘Slogan and Photo Contest to Encourage Childbirth’ until the 12th to raise social interest in pregnancy and childbirth and spread a childbirth-friendly atmosphere.
In the slogan category, participants can submit phrases of around 15 characters that express positive images of pregnancy and childbirth. Last year, the phrase “It’s this happy, honey, why not have one more?” won the grand prize.
In the photo category, the theme is the joy of pregnancy and childbirth, happy parenting, and the healthy and precious appearance of families. Submissions must be JPG or JPEG files with a resolution of at least 3000×2000 pixels and a size of at least 3MB.
Anyone interested in promoting childbirth can participate. Each person can submit one slogan or one photo, and participation in both categories is allowed.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the forms from the notice section of the Mapo-gu Office website, completing them, and sending them via email to the designated officer.
Out of the submitted works, six will be selected after a review process. Two grand prize winners will receive 150,000 KRW each, two excellence prize winners will receive 100,000 KRW each, and two encouragement prize winners will receive 50,000 KRW each.
The winning works will be used in the slogan and photo exhibition for the Pregnant Women’s Day event in October and in promotional materials and exhibitions for encouraging childbirth.
The results of the judging will be posted on the Mapo-gu Office website in September.
Park Gang-soo, the head of the Mapo-gu Office, stated, “I hope this contest becomes an opportunity to reflect on the precious value of pregnancy and childbirth and to spread a family-friendly atmosphere,” adding, “We will do our best to create an environment that makes it easy to have and raise children.”
