On June 26th, the Seoul Volunteer Center and HDC Hyundai Development Company joined hands to restore neighborhood relationships through volunteering. This business agreement aims to strengthen the local community through a citizen-led neighborhood communication campaign.
The two organizations will promote the “One Step Closer to Neighbors” project as their first collaborative effort. Citizens will log greetings or check-ins with neighbors on the Moa platform. Before participating, they can take a simple test to find out their neighborhood type.
HDC Hyundai Development Company supported the campaign’s purpose by donating funds. These funds will be utilized for the “Neighborhood Harmony Kit,” which will be distributed once 261 participation certifications are reached, benefiting vulnerable housing groups. The kits consist of warmth boxes, welcome gifts for new residents, and noise prevention items for neighbors.
The harmony kits will be distributed in Seoul’s Nowon-gu, Seocho-gu, and Yangcheon-gu. The campaign will be run until October, and anyone can participate through the Moa platform.
The Seoul Volunteer Center plans to strengthen a sustainable volunteering foundation by collaborating with various companies. Director Song Chang-hoon stated, “A structure has been created where citizens’ daily actions contribute to society.”
This agreement is being highlighted as a social contribution model where public and private entities share the value of volunteering and jointly respond to creating a neighborhood culture within the region.
