Geumcheon District Hires 3 Temporary Workers to Operate Dawn Job Shelter

The district of Geumcheon in Seoul announced on the 1st that it is publicly recruiting three temporary workers to operate the ‘Dawn Job Shelter’ for day laborers during the early morning hours.

The hired workers will be required to work three hours a day, from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m., five days a week. Their duties include setting up tents, providing beverages, tidying up the surroundings, and ensuring safety around the shelter. One worker will be employed from August to December, while the other two will work from September to December.

The pay is 47,116 won per day, averaging about 1.3 million won per month. This includes the 2025 living wage of Geumcheon District and additional allowances for early morning hours (2 hours from 4 to 6 a.m.). Enrollment in the four major insurance plans is mandatory.

Eligibility criteria include being a healthy resident of Geumcheon District aged 18 or older, capable of early morning work. Applications can be downloaded from the Geumcheon District Office website from July 3 to 8, completed, and submitted in person to the Geumcheon Workers’ Comprehensive Support Center or via email.

The hiring process involves a first round of document screening followed by a second round of interviews. Final selections will be posted on the Geumcheon District Office website on July 22 and will be individually notified.

Yoo Seong-hoon, the mayor of Geumcheon District, stated, “We will do our best to manage the shelter stably so that workers can rest comfortably on their way to work in the early morning,” and added, “We will continue to provide various support and policies considerate of working individuals.”
