Without programming knowledge, creating games and analytical tools is possible.
Simplification of interaction app sharing and distribution.
The scope of using generative AI has been greatly expanded.
One of the leading figures in generative AI, Anthropic, on June 25 local time, implemented a groundbreaking feature upgrade to its AI assistant ‘Claude’. This is the ‘Artifacts’ feature, which enables anyone to easily create and share simple apps using natural language without programming knowledge. As anyone with a Claude account can use it, the popularization of generative AI-based app development is expected to be in full swing.
Through this measure, Claude is positioned as a conversational AI platform alongside OpenAI’s custom GPT and Google’s Gems. In particular, it allows for easy app creation for non-commercial purposes, drawing attention from individual creators and educational fields.

With just a few clicks and words, complete an app.
The newly upgraded ‘Artifacts’ feature has evolved from a space that stored static content into a platform for creating interactive applications. Users can describe the desired function or purpose in plain sentences to Claude, and the AI will automatically generate various apps such as games, data analyzers, and productivity tools.
Early user cases include games that remember the user’s choices and adjust the story, smart tutors that change explanations based on comprehension levels, and analyzers that extract information from uploaded Excel files for explanation. The generated apps can be shared via a link, and the side using them bears the cost, so creators don’t have any burden of distribution.
An intuitive dashboard supports sharing and exploration.
Claude provides a dedicated dashboard to manage Artifacts more easily. Users can manage their created apps or explore apps made by other users. This feature also implies the potential for expansion as a collaborative tool, leading to the possibility of evolving into something like an ‘app store’ in the long term.

The company emphasized, “Now, anyone can create powerful apps with just simple conversations,” adding, “The accessibility of directly utilizing AI technology has decisively improved.”
Open to everyone, from developers to general users.
The Artifacts feature is open to all Claude users, including those with free accounts. With simple activation on the settings page, it is ready to use, and the number of creations and executions is applied differently according to the subscribed plan. It is supported across all Claude’s free, pro, and max plans, with more apps available to paid users.

According to Anthropic, over 500 million objects have already been generated through the Artifacts feature. The company stated that more than 10% of interactions on Claude are related to software development, and revenue related to coding has increased by 1,000% in recent months.
“Utilizing AI is no longer an exclusive domain of experts.”
The no-code development flow was formalized in 2015 with Microsoft’s introduction of PowerApps, followed by visual development tools like Bubble and Airtable gaining attention. Through this feature expansion, Anthropic aims to transform Claude from a simple AI chatbot into a multifunctional workspace.
Meanwhile, Anthropic is an AI company founded in 2021 by former OpenAI executives and has secured an 8 billion dollar investment from Amazon, along with additional investments from Google. This move is interpreted as an attempt to expand influence in the AI industry with user-friendliness and mass accessibility as a weapon amid competitive dynamics with tech giants.
