Seoul’s Eunpyeong District announced that it hosted the “2025 Eunpyeong Self-Sufficiency Bazaar” at the Eunpyeong Regional Self-Sufficiency Center on June 23 and 24, together with local residents. This event was organized to inform residents about the functions of the local self-sufficiency center and to support low-income groups through the proceeds from the sale of donated goods.
The self-sufficiency bazaar began in 2022 and marks its fourth year. This year’s bazaar featured donations from community contribution companies, including Neulpum, Linwood, Cork, Seowon Enterprise, Jangheung General Trading Company, Provence, and Angels Haven, offering hats, clothing, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous goods at affordable prices.
The Seoul Eunpyeong Regional Self-Sufficiency Center is an organization that supports self-reliance for basic livelihood security recipients and those slightly above the poverty line. It operates 16 self-sufficiency work programs, including cleaning, delivery, convenience stores, and cafes, and also runs employment support projects with six self-sufficiency companies, such as CU Eunpyeong Galhyun Branch.
Choi Min-joon, the head of the Seoul Eunpyeong Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, stated, “The bazaar was successfully held thanks to donations from community contribution companies and staff,” and added, “We will continue our ongoing support activities for low-income families.”
Kim Mi-kyung, the mayor of Eunpyeong District, commented, “We aim to expand the culture of donation and elevate community spirit through events like the self-sufficiency bazaar,” and pledged, “We will strive to realize a welfare community that stands together with our marginalized neighbors.”
