The creative invention education program, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and robots to help students understand the principles of invention through hands-on experience, is being conducted in five schools nationwide.
The International Intellectual Property Training Institute of the Korean Intellectual Property Office announced that from May 7 to 28, they will conduct creative invention education for students at Shingwang Middle School (Gwangju), Geumdang Middle School (Gwangju), Geumsan-dong Middle School (Chungnam), Gyeryong Daesil Elementary School (Chungnam), and Seongdeok Middle School (Daejeon).
This education initiative has been prepared to mark the 60th anniversary of Inventors’ Day (May 19). It aims to introduce students to the history of technological innovation in our enterprises and provide opportunities to encounter new technologies.
The education comprises a 2-night, 3-day residential course conducted at the institute located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, as well as a one-day experiential course where instructors visit schools directly.

The institute has structured the program to combine theory and practice. The theoretical course introduces patent product cases invented domestically over the past 60 years while explaining basic concepts of invention.
The practical course includes the production of fusion inventions using AI and coding classes utilizing Spike Prime robots, allowing students to handle technology directly and develop creative problem-solving skills.
Heo Jae-woo, the head of the International Intellectual Property Training Institute, stated, “Just as the baby-boomer generation led national industry through education, the future generation must open the next 60 years through creativity and integrated knowledge.”
The creative invention education program accepts applications annually from schools nationwide to conduct the education. Additionally, experiential programs at the National Invention Talent Center are operating continuously, providing access to facilities such as the Invention Experience Room, VR Experience, and Creative Invention Experience Hall.
