Domestic companies holding AI-based solutions now have the opportunity to directly demonstrate their technology in overseas markets.
The Ministry of Science and ICT is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘AI·Digital Transformation Innovation Company Overseas Demonstration Support Project’ from April 21 to May 12, focusing on four fields: healthcare, manufacturing, education, and agriculture & livestock. The core of this project is to support companies in applying their AI solutions to foreign companies and institutions, allowing them to demonstrate and verify these solutions on-site.
The international demand sources have been secured by the Global Digital Innovation Network (GDIN), a specialized agency supporting the overseas expansion of digital innovative companies. GDIN has pre-identified and verified 29 public institutions and major companies in regions such as Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
This year, a total of 8 projects will be organized. Participating companies can choose a project from the demand sources presented by GDIN and apply. Once the demonstration is selected, tasks such as AI solution adoption, implementation, and performance verification will be conducted.
Selected companies will receive up to 100 million KRW, which can be used to cover necessary costs for demonstration execution, including labor costs, material costs, prototype production and development costs, general service fees, and overseas travel expenses.
The selection of participating companies takes place through requirements review, written evaluations, and online interviews, with overseas demand source representatives directly participating in the evaluation. The demonstration will proceed over a period of 7 months from June to the end of December.
Park Tae-wan, Director of Information and Telecommunications Industry Policy, stated, “If AI-based solutions are demonstrated locally based on actual demand, it will serve as an effective reference for entering the global market,” adding, “We will actively support companies with excellent technological capabilities to quickly establish themselves in the global market.”
Applications can be submitted online through the websites of the Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency and the Global Digital Innovation Network.
