On the 16th (local time, Wednesday), Kia unveiled the electric SUV ‘EV9 Nightfall Edition’ for the first time globally at the ‘2025 New York International Auto Show’ held at Jacob Javits Convention Center in the United States.
The EV9 Nightfall Edition boasts a striking exterior with dedicated black details applied to the front grill and lower door sections. It features a new color, Roadrider Brown, black interior, and precise stitching to enhance its luxurious feel.
Equipped with a ‘Boost’ function, the EV9 Nightfall Edition can reach a maximum torque of up to 71.3kgf·m, accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. It combines the acceleration performance and practicality of a dual motor base.
Additionally, it adopts the North American Charging Standard (NACS), enabling the use of Tesla Superchargers. An adapter allows compatibility with existing combined charging system (CCS) stations, improving charging accessibility for local consumers.
Sales will begin in the second quarter of 2024, with plans for expansion into global markets thereafter.

Kia also unveiled the all-new K4 hatchback model for the first time globally on this day. The K4 carries forward the convenience and sporty design of its predecessors, completing a dynamic exterior through the roofline, hidden rear door handles, and the sparkling yellow exterior color.
The second-row legroom and headroom are top-notch in its class. The loading capacity is 628 liters. It boasts the latest technologies such as an approximately 30-inch panoramic display, wireless connectivity, Digital Key 2.0, and OTA updates.
It applies a 1.6-liter turbo engine with a maximum of 190 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission, enhancing driving performance with a GT-Line exclusive sports suspension. Advanced driving assistance features such as Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA-2), evasive steering assist, and surround view monitor are also included.
The K4 hatchback is available in EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo configurations. It will be sold in the U.S. market in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The EV4, the quintessential next-generation electrified sedan, also made its North American debut at the New York Auto Show. As Kia’s first electrified sedan, it is designed on the dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP, featuring a low front, fastback roofline, and wide rear design.
It emphasizes a futuristic style with Star Map signature lights, vertical rear lamps, and 19-inch wheels. Various advanced systems, including Highway Driving Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist, are also installed.
The EV4 is composed of three trims: Light, Wind, and GT-Line, and is set to launch in the first quarter of 2026 in the U.S.
Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales at Kia America, stated, “Kia is advancing with a consistent strategy, even amidst the ongoing market uncertainties. We aim to provide diverse choices for customers in both electric cars and internal combustion engine vehicles.”
Kia showcased 21 vehicles, including the EV6, Telluride, Sorento, and Sportage, at the New York Auto Show, with the exhibition space spanning 1,769㎡ (about 535 pyeong).
