The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy’s welfare program aims to support low-income households vulnerable to heating and cooling challenges. The program provides high-efficiency devices free of charge to improve energy access and residential welfare amidst climate change impacts like heatwaves and cold snaps.

From April onwards, Samsung Electronics will supply its new 2025 wall-mounted air conditioners to approximately 18,000 households selected through 226 basic local governments nationwide. Over the past four years, Samsung Electronics has provided high-efficiency air conditioners to over 60,000 households through this initiative.

This year’s air conditioner supply features first-grade energy consumption efficiency, combining cooling performance and power-saving effects. The filter can be washed with running water, reducing maintenance costs.

The “Fast Cooling” function quickly cools all areas of the home, offering immediate relief during heatwaves. It includes a 99.9% antibacterial copper micro-filter and an automatic cleaning function after cooling. The “Tropical Night Comfortable Sleep” function adjusts the set temperature to match sleep patterns, ensuring a pleasant sleeping environment.

Oh Chee-oh, Samsung Electronics Korea General Manager, stated, “It is meaningful to provide high-efficiency air conditioners to protect the health and improve the quality of life for the energy disadvantaged amid the normalization of climate crises.”
