Seoul’s Gangseo District will hold the ‘2025 Gangseo Spring Light Festa’ at Banghwa Neighborhood Park on the 12th (Saturday) afternoon. This nighttime festival combines light elements with the ‘Gaehwasan Spring Flower Festival’, which has been held since 2008. This year, under the theme ‘Light of the Future, New Spring’, it attempts a fusion of technology and art.
The event starts at 3 PM, featuring experiences, performances, and media exhibitions throughout the park for all generations. ‘Spring Light Busking’ will continue on the plaza stage until 6 PM and includes content such as bubble shows, music, and magic for family visitors.
In the park’s playground, traditional game experiences will take place alongside scientific programs organized by the Gangseo Starry Sky Science Museum. Experience booths themed around ‘spring’ and ‘stars’, such as flower paper bag making and LED flower syrup crafting, will also be available.
The main attraction, the nighttime light exhibition, will light up together with the opening ceremony at 7 PM. The laser show, accompanied by AI-generated music, uses the entire park forest as a stage to enhance immersion. Laser performances and sound production utilizing the forest provide a unique audiovisual experience through light-blooming effects.
The scenic exhibition spans approximately 500 meters and incorporates various technologies, such as LED lights, interactive light sculptures, mist spraying, and holograms. It is divided into two themed areas: ‘Star Light Zone’ and ‘Spring Light Zone’, featuring interactive and emotional exhibition spaces like the star light playground, aurora path, and famous painting promenade.
The light exhibition will be constantly open from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM daily from the 12th event day until April 29th. It is designed for night strolls and viewing, allowing citizens to enjoy the light exhibition even after the festival concludes.
Additionally, various side events such as stargazing experiences, flea markets, and SNS events will be held. The science content, in collaboration with the Gangseo Starry Sky Science Museum, is designed to capture the interest of children and teenagers.
The Gangseo Spring Light Festa marks the starting point of the ‘Sakgak Sakgak Festa’, a four-season festival series promoted by Gangseo District this year. The upcoming schedule includes the Wujangsan Green Festa in May, Summer Night Festival in August, Gangseo Gogo Festival in September, and Magok Wish Village in November.
Jin Gyo-hoon, head of Gangseo District, expressed, “We hope the festival, which harmonizes beautiful light and spring, will convey the energy of new hope,” adding, “We wish for all citizens to enjoy the feeling of spring with family, friends, and loved ones.”
