The Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation announced on the 28th that it will open Gangnam Maru Park and Gangseo Seoul Water Reclamation Park for free as wedding venues to alleviate the financial burden of marriage costs.

The designated parks, equipped with extensive green areas and parking facilities, can be utilized as outdoor wedding venues. Reservations can be made every Saturday from March to June and from August to November. The venue rental is entirely free.

In line with the public wedding nature, the city of Seoul will support up to 1 million won per couple in equipment operation costs to reduce additional on-site installation costs. This funding can be used for the rental of wedding equipment such as chairs and tables.

Eligibility for support includes residents of Seoul, those who work or study within the city, or if one of the parents of the prospective bride or groom is a resident of Seoul. Applications for venue rental and equipment cost support are available if at least one of the couple is a Seoul resident.

Kwon Want-taek, the director of Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation, stated, “Providing public wedding spaces for citizens concerned about marriage costs is part of our open space administration. We plan to further expand the availability of public facilities for citizens in the future.”
