The Public Procurement Service has taken a significant step in promoting the adoption of innovative technologies that convert waste plastic into petrochemical raw materials in public procurement. On March 25, 2025, the Public Procurement Service held an on-site consultation at Eco-Inergy to explore ways to expand the use of innovative recycling products in the public sector.
This consultation focused on Eco-Inergy’s innovative products, which recycle waste plastic through pyrolysis to be used as a substitute for crude oil, thus contributing to resource circulation and carbon neutrality. The technology, which has attracted attention for these contributions, involves converting waste that would typically be disposed of into valuable resources.

Based on the innovation and environmental contributions of this product, the Public Procurement Service is currently reviewing ways to apply it to the public procurement market through systems like the ‘Innovative Product Demonstration Purchase Project.’ To this end, they are gathering opinions from relevant experts and procurement managers, while discussing the technology’s applicability and its connection to public demand with Eco-Inergy.
A representative from the Public Procurement Service stated, “We are actively discovering innovative technologies that not only solve waste resource problems but also align with domestic carbon-neutral policies. This on-site consultation will guide our policy towards increasing the practical applicability of these solutions.”
In the future, the Public Procurement Service intends to continuously open sales channels for eco-friendly technologies and products while expanding various systems so that the public sector can take the lead in realizing a carbon-neutral society.
